Benoit planted our vineyard in March 2007, a landmark anniversary for Olympic Cellars. I keep referring to the vineyard as the Le petit vineyard. It may be small but it’s our first and completes the circle that the founder of the winery Gene Neuharth started over 28 years ago. (Read our story: The Circle Is Unbroken) |

Benoit continues my French lessons: Vineyard is “Vignoble” in French and Benoit informs me, “Kathyeee, Vignoble is a masculine word, of course.” Finally “Vignoble” trumps “Working Girls”! |

We plan to officially dedicate our new vineyard in May. In the early 1900’s our land and barn was Wayside Farm. It is only fitting that our vineyard should be “Wayside Vineyard”. In celebration we also have a “Vineyard Celebration 4-pack” Click here for details. |

| In years to come we will be able to say “estate grown grapes”. Benoit told me he has really missed the vineyards. I can’t even describe how I feel when I write this and how incredible it is to drive into the winery and see Benoit standing in the middle of the vineyard with the Olympic Mountains in the background. It takes my breath away. | |
